Proximetry Embeds Device Management Into GE's Predix Platform for the Industrial Internet

Embedded Into Predix Edge Manager, Proximetry Device Management Helps Control, Secure and Speed Connections Between Machines and From the Network Edge to the Cloud; GE's Predix Cloud-Based Platform Powers Industrial Apps That Connect Machines and People With Data and Analytics to Improve Business Outcomes

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 1, 2016) - Proximetry today announced that it has teamed up with GE Digital to integrate its device management offering into services available on Predix, GE's cloud-based platform for the industrial Internet. The Proximetry device management platform delivers scalable and secure, exception-based device management using a collection of modular applications and comprehensive features to manage any type of device across the Internet of Things.

Proximetry and GE combined their software and engineering components to create Predix EdgeManager™, a robust suite of functions and features for cloud to edge device management. Predix EdgeManager is now available to all Predix developers and users via the Predix.io marketplace, a dedicated environment for industrial developers to build industrial applications and is available to GE and non-GE developers.

"As we build the Predix platform, our cloud platform for the Industrial Internet, our collaboration with Proximetry has helped us accelerate our product development and provide key capabilities that allow us to better connect and manage assets in the field," Abhi Kunté, Global Head of Technology Strategic Alliances.

"GE is leading the digital industrial revolution and has recognized that new ways of communicating between and with machines require new ways of managing them. Security is a critical component but so is connecting and communicating reliably in resource constrained network environments which are often the norm on the network edge. Proximetry and Predix EdgeManager enable the kind of device management needed to support the industrial internet that GE foresees," said Tracy Trent, Proximetry CEO.

The integration of Proximetry device management through Predix Edge Manager is another key step toward increasing speed to market and scalability for industrial innovations.
