GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 3, 2016) -
Once again this year, we celebrate being part of the international Francophonie during the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie. Whether we grew up speaking French, discovered this language later in life, or have simply grown to appreciate cultural products in French, we Canadians share a Francophone heritage that is a source of pride.
The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie invite us to discover and celebrate this rich heritage from March 3 to March 23, 2016. Our government is proud to be part of this event, which offers us a real Canadian opportunity to highlight International Francophonie Day, celebrated around the world on March 20.
As a founding member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Canada has always played a prominent role in the international Francophonie. Our leadership is demonstrated by the ongoing promotion of our two official languages and continued support for Francophone communities around the country.
I invite all Canadians to take part in this celebration.
Enjoy the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie 2016!
