Support for the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie

The Government of Canada provides multi-year funding for this great celebration of the Canadian Francophonie


GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 3, 2016) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Randy Boissonnault, Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, today announced the Government of Canada's support for the 2016 Rendez-vous de la Francophonie. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

As part of its Official Languages Support Programs, the Department of Canadian Heritage has renewed its partnership with the Canadian Foundation for Cross-Cultural Dialogue in order to provide support in organizing the Rendez-vous.
The contribution of the Government of Canada amounts to $930,000 annually for the presentation of the Rendez-vous in 2016, 2017 and 2018, for a total of $2.79 million in funding.

  • The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie precede International Francophonie Day. The event's goal is to promote and sustain dialogue and closer relations between the Francophone and Acadian communities and all components of Canadian society.
