NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 4, 2016) - With over 35 years of providing abused women and their children safe and secure shelter, sadly, the North Shore Crisis Services Society (NSCSS) finds the need for their services still growing in our community.

"Just as important as providing emergency shelter for women and children facing domestic abuse, we need to provide them the support, tools and resources to overcome the past and find the strength and courage to move ahead," says Laura Reynolds, Executive Director, NSCSS. "We strive to empower women to make changes that give them more confidence and hope for a healthier, happier future."

In addition to SAGE House, which just recently went through a significant expansion in 2015, NSCSS also manages HOPE's Place, a second stage housing program for families who have left an abusive relationship, as well as many other community programs including the Good Stuff Connection Clothing Program and Thrift Store.

On Friday April 1, the NSCSS will be hosting its inaugural Gala Of Grace ladies luncheon at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver, presented by BlueShore Financial and Skoah Spas. With 80+ supporting businesses in our community, special guests and live entertainment, we are in for a fantastic event!

"Women gathering together to support each other can be extremely powerful. The Gala of Grace will bring together 300 supportive, strong women in our community to raise understanding, awareness and much-needed funds," says Pat Kelly, Gala of Grace chair. "So grab your sisters, your mother, your best friends and your co-workers and join us for an afternoon full of love, laughter and a gourmet lunch."
