Spectrum Gaming Group Teams With MMGY Global and Friedmutter Group to Chart Path to Attract Millennials

LINWOOD, NJ--(Marketwired - Mar 9, 2016) - Spectrum Gaming Group, the global leader in gaming research and analysis, and strategic partners MMGY Global and Friedmutter Group have developed a 360-degree service for casinos, lotteries, governments and suppliers seeking to capture the hearts, minds and wallets of the emerging Millennial generation.

The Millennial generation, defined today as 21- to 34-year-olds, outnumber Baby Boomers by an estimated 6 million. Their purchasing preferences will impact all industries that target discretionary income and leisure spending. Spectrum and its partners believe that all stakeholders -- including governments -- need to understand this critical trend.

"A new era is upon us. Casinos and lotteries need to develop new business models, and new legislative and regulatory rules to stay relevant in this changing world," said Spectrum Managing Director Michael Pollock.

Spectrum -- which has worked for governments and operators in 36 US states and territories and in 43 countries -- is partnering with MMGY Global, a leading travel and leisure marketing firm, and the Friedmutter Group, a leading architecture and innovative design firm.

"Millennials not only represent the greatest market opportunity of the future because of their age, but because of the premium they place on the role of leisure activities in their lifestyle and, importantly, their current underrepresentation in the patronage of casinos and other gaming establishments," said Peter C. Yesawich of MMGY Global.

Brad Friedmutter, Founder and CEO of the Friedmutter Group says, "We see a cohesive integration between the technology sector of gaming and the physical space, the immersive space, that occurs within existing and future casino designs."

Spectrum and its partners have addressed global audiences in webinars, as well as at the ICE Totally Gaming conference in London. Future plans include speaking on the topic of Millennials at:

  • GiGse 2016 in San Francisco, April 27-29; visit www.gigse.com
  • 20th Annual East Coast Gaming Congress and i-Gaming Institute in Atlantic City, May 25-26; visit www.ecgc.us

Spectrum and its partners are also developing the new MMGY Global/Spectrum Gaming 2016 Portrait of Millennial Gamblers, an in-depth examination of the impact of the current economic environment, prevailing social values, and emerging media habits on Millennials' gaming behavior.
