Media Advisory/Patients, Concerned Citizens Bring Message to Ontario's Minister of Health: Welland Hospital Critical to Our Community, Keep Its Doors Open!


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 18, 2016) - The Ontario government plans to close five community hospitals in the Niagara region and replace them with one. The Welland Hospital serves a population of 50,000 people within Welland, and more than 100,000 in the surrounding catchment area. The closure of an entire hospital serving this many people is almost unheard of in Canada.

Residents will travel to Queen's Park for a day to raise awareness, bringing with them thousands of signed petitions to save the Welland Hospital. They will be holding a press conference at the media studio.
