MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 23, 2016) - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ", "VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:VQS) is pleased to announce that Spark & Cannon, VIQ's Australia-based reporting and transcription services and technology distributor, has won a new digital recording and management contract with the Alice Springs Council, Northern Territory, Australia.

The council had previously been using a competitor's product but was ready to move to the next generation of functionality. VIQ's innovative digital software platform has the flexibility to capture, manage and integrate the largest variety of audio and video sources in the industry, allowing customers to re-use their existing hardware capture infrastructure, and seamlessly route, archive and manage that content securely anywhere in the world. VIQ's centralized database gives the council immediate redundancy of the record and the easy-to-use interface means that operators can quickly and easily master the software.

"The council had out-grown their previous installation and was looking for advanced capture and management functionality with an interface that was intuitive and easy to use. The VIQ solution met those requirements," said Matthew Fowler, Managing Director of Spark & Cannon. "The next-level VIQ platform will provide remote capability and immediately securely replicate their data."

"I'm pleased that yet another customer has recognized VIQ's leadership for digital evidence capture and management, with our focus on sophisticated workflow, unmatched security and flexible interoperability," said Sebastien Paré, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "A large part of our growth plan in 2016 is taking our existing footprint and stellar reputation in Australia as a provider of reporting and transcription services and leveraging that into more high-margin software and technology sales. I'm pleased with Spark & Cannon's performance on this new revenue track as they continue to represent VIQ's secure, sophisticated technology platform across Australia."
