HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Mar 29, 2016) - OFS Portal, LLC announces the retirement of Dave Wallis after more than 15 years with the company. Mr. Wallis will stay on until April 30^th 2016 as he transitions his duties over to Chris Welsh, OFS Portal CEO.

Dave spent his 46-year career on the supplier side of the Oil & Gas industry. He started as a geologist working offshore in various areas around the world before migrating to a wide range of management roles. Dave's oil field management experience with a select group of Fortune 500 companies has been extensive in all major oilfield arenas across the globe. He most recently worked with Weatherford, a multi-billion dollar oilfield service and supply company, where Dave's final role was as their Director of e-Commerce in their corporate office in Houston, Texas.

Dave was involved in OFS Portal before its inception, being part of the 12 person multi-company team tasked with creating the original vision and design of OFS Portal. Dave served on the OFS Portal board from launch until April 2003, when he returned to the United Kingdom from Houston.

As a part of OFS Portal's support for open industry standards, Dave was active in the PIDX standards group from 2003-2014, having been on the Executive Committee and Chaired the PIDX's Membership, Marketing and Catalogue and Classification Workgroup teams.

Dave has authored and co-authored a number of white papers on Oil & Gas eCommerce and during his time for OFS Portal based in Europe, he travelled extensively as an ambassador for both OFS Portal and PIDX. He contributed to various pan-European standards bodies and trade associations bringing practical Oil and Gas experience to the somewhat bureaucratic standards development processes.
