CAIRO, EGYPT--(Marketwired - Mar 30, 2016) - To Marriott, every meeting can be distilled down to an essential purpose. When the finalists of Marriott's months-long, city-wide foosball tournament met for the championship match in the center of Marriott's Aida Ballroom in Cairo, Egypt, the purpose of the meeting, win or lose, was to celebrate -- which is just one of the seven core meeting purposes that form the brand's innovative Meetings Imagined strategy.

Over the course of the past three months, the Marriott Egypt Team has been visiting companies and holding a foosball tournament to promote Meetings Imagined and Marriott Rewards. In celebration of the Meetings Imagined launch at the Aida Ballroom of the Cairo Marriott Hotel, what's typically an elegant wedding hall in Cairo was transformed into a stadium. A wrestling ring was set up in the center, as seating filled in all around. The match was aired live on a giant screen of the Cairo Marriott. Stadium fare like popcorn, hot dogs, and French fries were passed around just like the vendors at a ballgame. And the familiar, sportive voice of an MC calling the fast-paced foosball action, play-by-play, filled the air, creating a truly unique experience -- another hallmark of Meetings Imagined.

The grand display of celebration, punctuated by the thrilling foosball match and stadium experience, showcased just one purpose of the Meetings Imagined philosophy. In the ballroom foyer, six other booths were set up to represent the remaining Meetings Imagined purposes -- Network, Decide, Produce, Educate, Promote, and Ideate. The set-up displayed samples of possible food and beverage options, various technologies used, and supplies required for extraordinary meetings. Attendees were introduced to new concepts of how meetings can look and function, and were familiarized with the adaptability of Meetings Imagined's inventive ideas.

Home to some of the most diverse restaurants in Cairo, Egypt, the Cairo Marriott Hotel would be an ideal venue to host a Network Meeting. Nothing brings people together like food, and the hotel's expert chefs -- specialized in Middle Eastern, American, Japanese, French, and Italian cuisines -- could produce creative dishes that inspire originality and socialization.

That leaves the purposes of Decide, Produce, Educate, Promote, and Ideate to be realized in one of the hotel's 19 state-of-the-art Cairo meeting rooms. A full-service business centre helps create meetings that produce. Break-out rooms overlooking the palace gardens are where decisions get made, while 35mm projectors, LCD TVs, and high-tech audio-visual equipment develop an environment that encourages attendees and planners to promote, educate, and ideate.

With all that considered, the Cairo Marriott hotel was the obvious choice to commemorate the launch of Meetings Imagined in Cairo. The tournament winners were MO4 network, who added a lot of fun spirit to the event, enjoying the game and the props that were set up at the Meetings Imagined booths. Winners received two nights at Amman Marriott Hotel and two nights at Marriott Resort Jordan Valley.
