Welcome Hall Mission Receives Funding From Vigilant Global to Support At-Risk Mothers

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 30, 2016) - Welcome Hall Mission CEO/Executive Director Cyril Morgan is happy to announce a donation from Montreal-based IT firm Vigilant Global to help finance Coeur à soeur, a program that benefits at-risk mothers and pregnant street youth.

"Coeur à sœur helps a young pregnant girl get off the street so that her child can be born into a secure environment," Morgan explains. "Over 380 at-risk mothers have benefitted from our program so far, which means that over 380 vulnerable women are off the streets, engaging with society and developing positive parenting skills."

The program provides at-risk mothers with nutritious meals for both them and their babies, counselling services, workshops on positive parenting skills, material goods like free diapers and more. Mostly, this program gives mothers hope for a brighter future. Vigilant Global's donation will go a long way in taking care of the young mothers who count on Welcome Hall Mission's support.

Welcome Hall Mission's Coeur à sœur program is part of its Youth Services, which offers counselling services to assist street youth in finding employment and housing, returning to school and developing life skills. Youth Services also serves evening meals five days per week. In 2015, over 400 youth accessed its services for the first time; of these, almost twenty-five percent were at-risk mothers.
