Bombardier Transportation: New Leadership for Central and Eastern Europe

BERLIN, GERMANY--(Marketwired - April 4, 2016) - In the course of the company's transformation process, the Bombardier Transportation Leadership Team has decided to put in place a new leadership structure for the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Region. In order to make the organization more efficient, CEE will be split in two parts.

The segments Locomotives and Light Rail Vehicles (LOC and LRV) will be taken over by Michael Fohrer, in addition to his mandates as Head of Services for the CEE Region and of Global Services Solutions. His responsibility includes the sites in Kassel, Mannheim, Zurich and Vienna.

Germar Wacker, previously President PPC (Propulsion and Controls), will become the new Head of the Mainline and Metros segment in Central and Eastern Europe. This includes the German sites of Hennigsdorf, Bautzen and Görlitz as well as the Swedish site of Vasteras.

Germar Wacker and Michael Fohrer will become members of the Bombardier Transportation Leadership Team.

The current Head of CEE, Dieter John, will leave the company. Laurent Troger, President of Bombardier Transportation, thanks Dieter John for his contributions and commitment to Bombardier Transformation and wishes him all the best for his future endeavors.

Germar Wacker and Michael Fohrer have a successful track record and years of experience in Bombardier. Wacker's responsibilities included the General Manager position of the Vienna site and leading the LRV division. Fohrer has been holding leadership positions in the Services segment for many years.

Laurent Troger said, "This new structure will help us to make our organization more effective, positioning ourselves to meet the new challenges of heightening global competition."
