MEDIA ADVISORY: Seven Artists and Three Non-Profits Come Together to Support Calgarians

Party with a Purpose: Stampede with a philanthropic twist


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 5, 2016) - On Wednesday April 6th, the Calgary Homeless Foundation, the DIL Walk Foundation and Keys to Recovery will make a joint announcement of a collaborative Stampede event called Stampede Party with a Purpose. This event features seven Canadian Country Recording Artists and is an example of three organizations coming together, despite different missions, to collaborate in tough economic times in order to continue serving those in need. The event's artist lineup and headliner, a multi-JUNO Award winning artist, will be announced at the launch.

DIL Walk Foundation (Do It for Life) is a volunteer lead non-profit dedicated to increasing the awareness of heart disease using a unique primary prevention approach. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in Canada and worldwide and the South Asian population is even higher risk. DIL Walk focuses on providing leadership and expertise in the areas of clinical practice, research and advocacy in respect to cardiovascular disease prevention.

About Keys to Recovery

As part of Calgary's Plan to End Homelessness, Keys to Recovery provides permanent supportive housing to adults with complex needs who were chronically homeless and would otherwise be discharged back into homelessness upon successful completion of addictions treatment. Clients are provided with an apartment and whatever support they need to remove any barriers to regaining their independence and maintaining their sobriety.
