Fish & Richardson Announces Three New Office Managing Principals

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Apr 6, 2016) - Fish & Richardson today announced the appointment of three new Managing Principals: Susan Morrison Coletti in Wilmington, Delaware, Dr. J. Patrick Finn III in Twin Cities, and Michael Headley in Silicon Valley. As managing principals, they are responsible for the management and leadership of their respective offices. Fish has 11 U.S. offices and one office in Munich, Germany.

"Each of these individuals has shown great leadership, strong managerial skills, and visionary thinking," said Peter Devlin, President of Fish & Richardson. "I am thrilled that they have taken on these new roles, and look forward to working with them to help shape the future at our firm."

As managing principal of Fish's Wilmington office, Coletti leads a team of 21 attorneys. In addition, she will continue her intellectual property and patent litigation practice, which focuses on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, including substantial Hatch-Waxman work. Coletti previously served as group leader for the firm's Litigation Group. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kent A. Jordan on the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware (2005-2006) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (2007). Coletti received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2005. She received her B.S., with high honors, in cell biology from Haverford College in 2001.

Dr. Finn leads a team of 37 attorneys as managing principal of Fish's Twin Cities office. He also will maintain his practice, which emphasizes patent preparation and prosecution, strategic portfolio management, patentability and freedom-to-operate searching and analysis, inter partes review proceedings, opinions, due diligence investigations, licensing, and counseling in the medical biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and medical science fields. Dr. Finn also serves as group leader for the Patent Group. He received his J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 2002, his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997, and his B.S., with distinction, in biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1991.

As managing principal of Fish's Silicon Valley office, Headley leads a team of 33 attorneys while continuing his IP litigation practice, which emphasizes complex disputes across a broad range of technologies. He has tried cases and counseled clients through matters involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, unfair competition, and other technology-related issues in courts from Delaware to San Francisco to China. Headley previously served as Fish's firm-wide hiring principal, and he has done pro bono work for veterans and the District Attorney's office. He is a faculty member with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and is on the editorial advisory board for intellectual property issues of Law360. Headley received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
