Army Seeking Sources for RHA Steel Plates

Responses Due by No Later Than April 14


ABERDEEN, MD--(Marketwired - April 07, 2016) - The Department of the Army has released a sources sought notice to gain knowledge of the interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry -- including small businesses, 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses (EDWOSBs) -- to provide Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA) Steel Plates.

The requested steel plates include:

  • 9 Armor Plates, MIL-A-12560, Class 1, Rev. H, AMD 4 (5" X 72" X 144")
  • 9 Armor Plates, MIL-A-12560, Class 1, Rev. H, AMD 4 (.625" X 72" X 144")
  • 4 Armor Plates, MIL-A-12560, Class 1, Rev. H, AMD 4 (1" X 72" X 144")
  • 8 Armor Plates, MIL-A-12560, Class 1, Rev. H, AMD 4 (1.5" X 72" X 144")
  • 1 Lot Shipping to Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD 21005

The NAICS Code is 331110.

Responses are due by no later than 10 a.m. MST April 14, 2016. Responses must include:

  • Information about the extent to which the business can meet the specification
  • Type of business, whether the business is classified as a large or small business (based on the 1,500 standard that accompanies NAICS code 331110), and, if a small business, any small disadvantaged statuses held
  • Past Performance

The steel plates will be delivered to the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, with an expected delivery date of an estimated 10 weeks after the contract is awarded.
