Bentley's Pet Stuff, Along With Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis, Acquire It's A Pet's Life Retail Stores

Acquisition Introduces the Retail Chain Into the Minneapolis Market

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - Bentley's Pet Stuff, a family-owned, multi-unit healthy pet foods retailer founded by Lisa and Giovanni Senafe, along with entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis, host of CNBC's reality series, The Profit, today announced the acquisition of It's A Pet's Life, a pet products retailer with two locations in the Minneapolis market. Following the recent acquisition, plans are in place to open an additional eight to ten Bentley's Pet Stuff locations in the greater Minneapolis area over the next 12 months. The retailer currently operates 15 stores in the Chicagoland area and has several locations under renovations in the Milwaukee and Denver areas after recent acquisitions.

Bentley's Pet Stuff will be remodeling the It's A Pet's Life locations and opening at the following Minneapolis area addresses in the next few months:

  • 1115 Vicksburg Ln N, Plymouth, MN 55447
  • 7433 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435

Previous owner, Dan Mechley, opened It's A Pet's Life in 2004 with a goal to serve as a one-stop provider of affordably-priced pet foods, pet accessories, caged bird foods and caged bird accessories of excellent quality. Plans are in place for Dan and his current staff to transition into the new business and will assist with the expansion of the Bentley's Pet Stuff brand.

"We are excited to bring Bentley's Pet Stuff to the Minneapolis area to help meet customer demand for natural pet products, treats, toys and supplies," said business partner, Marcus Lemonis. "When researching new markets for our expansion, the Minneapolis community was a high priority because we wanted to give pet owners and their four legged friend a unique experience at a good value. The fabulous response we've received to our expansion has only reaffirmed our enthusiasm for this dynamic concept."

Bentley's Pet Stuff sells natural food, pet care essentials, toys, grooming products and treats for their four-legged friends. The company focuses on the three critical elements in caring for pets: to nourish, energize and reward. Specialty pet food brands such as Fromm, Orijen, Zignature, Honest Kitchen and Stella & Chewy's can be obtained from all Bentley's Pet Stuff locations. In addition, seasonal products and holiday gift items are available for purchase throughout the year.

"After our initial discussion, we realized that similar to our Bentley's Pet Stuff concept, It's A Pet's Life has been committed to the quality and integrity of their products," said co-founder and owner Lisa Senafe. "We also only feature high-quality ingredients and absolutely no corn, wheat, soy, or artificial flavors nor products made in China, so when we researched the market and the business, our ideologies were a perfect fit."

Bentley's Pet Stuff plans to open eight to ten additional Minneapolis-area stores in 2016 in Excelsior, a second Edina location, Woodbury, Savage, Uptown, St Louis Park, Hudson and more.
