BEDMINSTER, NJ--(Marketwired - May 04, 2016) - The Investment Center, Inc., an independent broker- dealer, held its second annual National Education Conference (NEC) in Boston, April19-21. The theme of 'Defining Leadership' was evident during the entire conference, no more so than during the closing keynote from former NFL quarterback and MVP, Joe Theismann.

Mr. Theismann, who won the Super Bowl with the Washington Redskins, has a keen interest in financial services and was aware of the challenges facing advisors in light of the DOL legislation. Quinn Im, an advisor from Monroe, NJ stated:

"The conference has given me new vigor to take my practice to the next level"

Over 120 advisors, assistants, and partners enjoyed more than 25 breakout sessions and 7 main-stage speakers with topics such as Women and Wealth, Best Practices, and the latest DOL rule.

CEO, Ralph DeVito said:

'For 30 years The Investment Center has had one focus -- the advisor. Our NEC curriculum is designed to put our advisors in front of their competition by providing them with information on policy changes, industry trends, practice building strategies, and best-in-class marketing programs."

Several new initiatives were announced at the conference including an assistant development program, a marketing coaching program, and a women's advisor group. In addition, the DOL legislation and the possible impact on advisors' businesses was a constant topic of conversation during the event.
