The fully-featured Zum app allows parents to utilize the new flexible options for kids' rides -- on-demand, pre-scheduled and carpools can be set up in moments with just a few taps. The Zum app becomes the central point of interaction where parents can track a child's rides in real time so they know when pick ups and drop offs occur as well as specify instructions for 'safe handoffs' for the child.
Zum carpools provide parents an affordable and flexible option for putting several kids together to get to practice, games, school or other activities, and the app makes it very fast and easy to arrange. Other Zum ride options managed through the app are pre-scheduled rides and recurring rides which can be set up for a full year in advance. Rides are charged by the mile and childcare services are charged by the quarter hour. There are no monthly subscription fees or contracts.
Through the app (iOS and Android), parents can check on the progress of any Zum ride and receive real-time notifications on ride progress. Plus, parents can connect via text or phone to the 'family assistant.' The Family Assistant, like a personal concierge, is always available to assist with logistics or issues as they arise.

To develop a caring and trusting relationship with the Zumers, every family is assigned a small pool of dedicated drivers who will get to know each other over time. Carefully selected and screened, Zumers must be over 21, have childcare experience, be Trustline, DoJ and FBI checked and approved, have a clean DMV record and minimum of three years' driving experience. Zum performs a 20-point vehicle inspection for safety, regularly checks the vehicles and monitors the driving patterns.
