Media Advisory/BOOM! BANG! POW! Media preview of Alter Ego: Comics and Canadian Identity at Library and Archives Canada (LAC).

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 9, 2016) - Members of the media are invited to attend a preview and meet with the curator of its brand new exhibition Alter Ego: Comics and Canadian Identity. This exhibition will be on display at Library and Archives Canada (395 Wellington St., Ottawa) starting May 12.

The exhibition features reproductions of art by Canadian comic book artists such as Jeff Lemire, Bryan Lee O'Malley, Darwyn Cooke, and John Byrne. Come and see some of your favourite superheroes from the Marvel and DC universes drawn by Canadians, along with some of Canada's own finest superheroes. The exhibition also features comics about Canadian history, as well as selections from Canada's outstanding contribution to the genre of biographical and realist comics.
