OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 9, 2016) - The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, will join students, teachers and members of the public at Code on the Hill, a half-day event to promote digital literacy and engineering skills among young people. The event is part of Canada's Science Odyssey.
Hosted by Actua, Google, Ladies Learning Code and the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering, the event will welcome young girls to Parliament Hill and consist of hands-on computer science and engineering activities. In addition, the code:mobile, Canada's first travelling computer lab, and the uOttawa Maker Mobile, a makerspace on wheels, will be on site.
The Minister will deliver brief remarks at approximately 12:30 p.m. Media are invited to attend.
