College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving Expands Into Lakeland

University of Tampa Graduate Applies Lessons in Entrepreneurship by Becoming Business Owner at Ripe Age of 22

LAKELAND, FL--(Marketwired - May 10, 2016) - College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving -- which has been featured on "Blue Collar Millionaire," "Shark Tank," and other primetime shows -- has expanded into Lakeland thanks to an entrepreneurial University of Tampa graduate.

Trent Lott just opened College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving of Central Florida, which serves Polk County, as well as parts of eastern Hillsborough County and Pasco County. The 22-year-old is following in the footsteps of College H.U.N.K.S. co-founders Omar Soliman and Nick Friedman, who have built a multi-million dollar nationwide business by bringing a teamwork and leadership mentality to the junk hauling and moving industries.

College H.U.N.K.S. provides local moving, junk removal, donation pickups and more. Lott says he learned about College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving after Nick Friedman came to the University of Tampa to give a presentation at the Entrepreneur Center. Lott, who played soccer for the Spartans, found the company culture especially attractive.

"It wasn't just a bunch of guys working -- it was like everyone is part of a team that comes together to go after a common goal," he said.

Building leaders, delivering outstanding service

Lott studied entrepreneurship at the University of Tampa, and after graduating last Spring, he decided to get an up-close look at College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk. He took a job with the company, working on the front lines as as junk hauler and a mover. He liked what he saw.

"One of our core values here is building leaders," Lott notes. While working at a company-owned location, he learned from experienced managers and supervisors who challenged him to learn to run the business and master different aspects -- such as how to attract customers, and how to serve them well.

Lott plans to grow his business by applying those lessons with his staff.

"The plan now for the guys that I have hired is to train them up so that we can open satellite offices -- our territory is huge -- and those guys can run the satellite offices for me. After this territory is fully developed, then I'd like to partner with some of them to open up new territories. That is how I see growing the business. We build leaders from the trucks up."

For now, for Lott that means going out on the trucks every day with his team to ensure they understand the professionalism and "wow" service that College H.U.N.K.S. customers expect.

"I know that moving is a stressful time for a lot of people, so I like to make it as stress-free as possible and turn it into more of a fun experience," he said.

Lott's business is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. You can reach him at 863-213-1613 or http://locations.collegehunkshaulingjunk.com/fl/central-florida.html.
