Boat Launch Closure

Timiskaming Ontario Dam Replacement Project

TEMISCAMING, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 13, 2016) -

Editors Note: There is a map associated with this press release.

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise local residents and boaters that access to the boat launch located on Long Sault Island will be closed from May 15, 2016, until October 13, 2016. The closure of the boat launch is necessary to conduct work related to the Timiskaming Ontario Dam Replacement Project.

An alternate existing boat launch, located in Thorne, Ontario, approximately 1 km south of Long Sault Island (along Highway 63), will remain open. This alternate site has been updated to improve the boat launch area. Signage has been installed to direct people to the alternate location.

For more information on the project, please consult the PSPC website.
