Harlem Culinary Legend Melba Wilson Book Signing Event

-- Carver Federal Savings Bank to Celebrate Wilson’s Latest Cookbook --

MEDIA ADVISORY

NEW YORK, June 03, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

What:

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016 Carver Federal Savings Bank (“Carver”) will host a book signing event to celebrate the recent launch of famed restaurateur Melba Wilson’s cookbook “100 Recipes From My Heart to Your Kitchen.”

A staple within the Harlem community since 2005, Melba’s Restaurant is regarded as the premier comfort food destination in New York City.  Harlem native and founder Melba Wilson began her storied career in esteemed restaurants such as Sylvia's and Rosa Mexicano, rising through the culinary ranks and eventually appearing on The Next Food Network Star, Throwdown with Bobby Flay and The View, and most recently The Dish and Consumed.  From this, Melba’s was born out of Wilson’s desire to provide an exquisite yet comfortable dining experience to the community that raised her.

Carver and Melba Wilson have a long-standing relationship that is deeply rooted in their mutual support of the community in which they serve.  Wilson turned to the local bankers at Carver to support her dream of expanding her dining and catering businesses—a testament to Carver’s support of local communities. In fact, for every deposit dollar it takes in, Carver reinvests 83 cents back into the communities it serves through a diverse suite of loan products, making it possible for businesses such as Melba’s to get the funding needed to establish themselves as a thriving member of communities such as Harlem.
