NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 8, 2016) - Good Energy, L.P., the industry-leading consultant in Government Energy Aggregation (GEA), announced today that the company has executed agreements with Gloucester and Winslow Townships and the Borough of Somerdale to form the largest government energy aggregation program in the State of New Jersey. The aggregation program combines and leverages the energy purchasing power of nearly 36,000 households to lower monthly costs by having Third Party Suppliers (TPS) competitively bid to supply electricity to the three communities.

"In early 2014, we recognized the value in aggregated energy purchasing for our residents. Good Energy has worked with us since that time to ensure that we would obtain the best possible savings for our constituents. We are grateful for the efforts of Good Energy executives in finalizing a bid for energy aggregation for the residents of our community. This allows over 2,000 of our households to leverage energy purchasing power to lower their monthly energy costs and empowers our municipality's electricity buying options," said Mayor Gary Passanante of the Borough of Somerdale, New Jersey.

GEA empowers local governments to create large electricity buying groups in pursuit of cheaper and more stable energy supply rates. The legislation ensures that the benefits of energy deregulation are passed onto residential account holders by allowing local governments to aggregate energy accounts within their municipal boundaries in order to obtain competitive bids from third party suppliers.

"Our three town, New Jersey aggregation program is offered to 35,969 households for 14 months," said Charles de Casteja, Managing Partner and Director of Sales, Good Energy. "We expect a 90-95 percent enrollment rate which will bring our annual energy supply cost savings to approximately $2.7 million based on the current utilities' prices-to-compare. We are grateful to the town officials who diligently worked to make this program a reality and proud to put nearly $3 million back into the pockets of New Jersey residents who are participating in this program."

Earlier this year, Good Energy was selected by the New Jersey Conference of Mayors (NJCM) to receive the prestigious Business Member of the Year award, and was recognized for utilizing the Government Energy Aggregation platform in order to help New Jersey residents lower their electricity supply costs.
