GlobalSign Becomes a GSMA Mobile Connect Accelerator Partner

Service Offers a Fast Track for Mobile Network Operators to Become Mobile Connect Providers

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Jun 8, 2016) - GMO GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), a leading provider of identity and security solutions for the Internet of Everything (IoE), announced today that it has partnered with the GSMA, the global trade association of mobile network operators, as an official Mobile Connect Accelerator (MCX) partner. Now mobile network operators can easily subscribe to GlobalSign's cloud-driven Mobile Connect platform and roll out Mobile Connect capabilities for piloting either proof-of-concept or commercial deployments.

The GSMA Personal Data program defines the global and federative Mobile Connect identity product portfolio, starting with authentication products for online services utilizing the ubiquitous nature of mobile phones and the SIM card as an authentication token. Today there are already over two billion Mobile Connect-enabled users around the world. The GlobalSign MCX platform offers a fast track for mobile network operators to deploy this easy-to-use and global authentication solution for their subscribers.

"Mobile Connect brings together an ecosystem of trusted mobile operators and service providers to enable consumers to use their mobile phone for managing access to online services, giving them greater control and a means of access that is secure and convenient," said Marcus Dormanns, Senior Director of Technology, Personal Data, GSMA.

Available now, the cloud-based GlobalSign MCX solution is built on the award-winning Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution from GlobalSign. With new regulations and standards such as the Payment Services Directive 2, General Data Protection Regulation and PCI-DSS 3.2, it is evident that the market needs convenient multi-factor authentication options. GlobalSign has over a decade of experience in delivering authentication solutions to online service providers.

"The Mobile Connect product portfolio, driven by the GSMA and the mobile industry, has the potential to disrupt the authentication market as we know it. The federative and global nature of Mobile Connect and the use of the mobile phone makes it the most convenient way to authenticate online users on a global basis," says Paul Tourret, General Manager, GlobalSign. "With our platform, operators who have not yet deployed Mobile Connect can do so easily and quickly."
