The Government of Canada Supports the FrancoFolies de Montreal
MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - June 9, 2016) - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage and the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, today reiterated the Canadian government's support for the 28th FrancoFolies de Montréal, which will take place from June 9 to 18, 2016.
The Minister for Canadian Heritage announced $175,000 in financial assistance for the 2016 edition of the FrancoFolies. This sum, awarded through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will help promote Francophone music and the next generation of artists.
As for CED, they note that a non-repayable contribution of $300,000 was awarded to the FrancoFolies for 2016. That amount, granted under the Quebec Economic Development Program, helps support the promotion and marketing of the festival abroad.
