Signal Expands Board of Directors With Appointment of Tech Industry Veteran Jai Shekhawat

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Jun 9, 2016) - Signal, a global leader in real-time, people-based marketing, announced today the appointment of successful technology industry investor and entrepreneur Jai Shekhawat to the company's Board of Directors.

"It's an exciting time for Signal. We are moving past our startup roots as we deepen our presence in international markets, grow revenue significantly year after year, and expand our company around the globe," said Mike Sands, CEO, Signal. "Jai is experienced in growing enterprise technology businesses on a similar trajectory, which makes him a key addition to our board who will help guide Signal in building on our success."

Shekhawat is founder and former CEO of Fieldglass, a cloud-based technology system for the procurement and management of labor and services. The company was acquired by SAP, the world's third-largest independent software manufacturer, for over $1 billion in 2015. While at Fieldglass, Shekhawat grew the company from a startup to more than 700 employees with customers in 100 countries.

"I'm honored to join Signal's Board of Directors because the company solves a significant challenge for today's marketers: the ability to connect with their customers in the right place at the right time," said Shekhawat. "Signal's technology helps marketers succeed in the cross-device world, taking the guesswork out of targeting and delivering better return on investment. I look forward to working with Signal to fuel further growth and market leadership."

Shekhawat has received numerous awards and honors, including being named Ernst & Young's 2012 Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year, and securing recognition for Fieldglass as Illinois Venture Capital Association's 2014 Private Equity Portfolio Company of the Year. He has also served various civic and board positions including Governor Rauner's Illinois Innovation Council, the Mayor's Council of Technology Advisors for the City of Chicago, the Field Museum Board of Trustees, the Membership Committee of the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Board of TiE Midwest. Additionally, Shekhawat is a founding member of the Firestarter Fund, an organization that mentors and invests in Chicago start-ups.
