Balabit Wins Identity Management Category in 2016 SC Awards

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 14, 2016) - Balabit, a leading provider of contextual security technologies, is pleased to announce that Shell Control Box (SCB) 4 F2 was the winning solution in the EXCELLENCE AWARDS: THREAT SOLUTIONS IDENTITY MANAGEMENT category at the 2016 SC Magazine Awards Europe. The announcement was made on Tuesday, 7th June at the awards presentation held at the stunning new venue Old Billingsgate, London.

Shell Control Box is an enterprise-level activity monitoring appliance that controls privileged access to remote IT systems, records activities in searchable, movie-like audit trails, and prevents malicious actions. It offers integration with leading SIEM and password management solutions and can be deployed within Microsoft Azure to make the cloud safer, providing real-time monitoring of user activities.

Each year, hundreds of products are entered in the EXCELLENCE AWARDS: THREAT SOLUTIONS categories. Each product is judged by a panel representing a cross-section of SC Magazine readership, which is comprised of large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets including financial services, healthcare, government, retail, education and other sectors. Entrants are narrowed down to a select group of finalists before undergoing a rigorous final judging process to determine the winner in each category.

Zoltán Györkő, CEO at Balabit, commented: "We're extremely honoured to have been named as a winner in these highly respected awards. It's a great commendation of our flagship solution, Shell Control Box, which has been developed to meet the real challenges and growing threats that businesses face today from the misuse of privileged and high-risk accounts. Our focus is to continue to innovate and deliver excellence in this area so that organisations have the best possible protection from attacks within the perimeter, without slowing down their day-to-day operations."

Tony Morbin, Editor in Chief, SC Magazine UK, commented: "Cash and IP are being stolen every day with values over the year running into hundreds of millions of pounds, while many millions of individuals' credentials continue to be illegally obtained. And we have come to accept that the attacker is most likely already in our network, and if not, the chances are that they soon will be. But this situation would be far worse were it not for the information security industry and products such as Shell Control Box by Balabit."

The SC Magazine Awards Europe are well known as one of the most prestigious awards for information technology (IT) security professionals and products. The awards recognise the best solutions, services and professionals that work around the clock to defend against the constantly shifting threat landscape in today's marketplace.
