Seizure of Contraband at Bowden Institution-Medium Security Unit

INNISFAIL, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 22, 2016) - Correctional Service Canada

On June 21, 2016, at about 11:00 a.m., staff members confiscated multiple packages containing contraband from a visitor in the medium security unit at Bowden Institution.

This seizure is the result of the combined efforts of the detector-dog teams, security intelligence officers, and correctional officers. The contraband seized includes tobacco and 57 grams of hash oil. The total institutional value of this seizure is estimated at $ 5000.00.

The visitor was arrested by the Innisfail detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and may face criminal charges.
