Death of an Inmate of the Federal Training Centre: Minimum Security Unit

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 11, 2016) - Correctional Service Canada

On July 10, 2016, Georges Boisvert, an inmate at the Federal Training Centre died in a hospital in Laval.

At the time of his death, Mr. Boisvert, 62 years old, had been serving a sentence of 6 years, since February 16, 2015, for Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation and Acts of Gross Indecency.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
