HAUPPAUGE, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 11, 2016) - Globecomm, a leading global communications solutions provider, announced today that Paul Scardino, the company's Senior Vice President for Sales Operations, Engineering and Marketing, has been elected President of the Board of Directors of the Society of Satellite Professionals International's (SSPI) Northeast Chapter for its 2016-17 operational year. 

SSPI, the satellite industry's oldest and largest trade association for industry professionals, has local chapters worldwide that promote the Society's mission and cater to the needs of its members in the regions. The Northeast Chapter board will direct activities in the New York and surrounding regions through a series of networking events and activities that enable local member engagement with the mission of the Society and connection with professionals in the region. The Northeast region of SSPI is diverse, with a concentration in broadcast media, new media and enterprise businesses.

As an industry veteran, Mr. Scardino has been an integral part of the Globecomm Executive team and is responsible for Globecomm's Corporate Sales Operations/Engineering and Marketing Organization. He has been involved in the satellite communications field since 1988 and has been instrumental to Globecomm's success since February 1997.
