FREDERICK, MD--(Marketwired - Aug 18, 2016) - Welocalize, global leader in translation and localization solutions, has successfully achieved certification to the International Standard specific to translation service providers, ISO 17100:2015, for global operations across North America, Asia and Europe.

Welocalize was granted the new certification following successful independent operations audits. The International Standard specifies requirements for all aspects of the translation process directly affecting the quality and delivery of translation services. This is a very detailed certification which governs how translations are prepared, managed, executed, and how resources are selected, recruited and managed for all associated pre and post production activities.

"We are delighted to achieve the ISO 17100 quality certification because it focuses specifically on processes and management of resources within the language service industry," said Paul McManus, chief services officer and CCO of Europe and Asia at Welocalize. "This will provide incredible value to existing and new clients because it delivers even more transparency on how we work, giving high quality, and predictable outcomes for clients in all our target industries, especially benefitting organizations in regulated industries."

Welocalize recently announced certification to the new quality management system, ISO 9001:2015 for global operations across North America, Asia and Europe, which focuses on all aspects quality throughout Welocalize services. ISO 17100 complements ISO 9001:2015 because it is a very granular certification, providing detailed guidelines on the delivery of translation services.

"International Standard ISO 17100:2015 is a really tough certification and by gaining this, Welocalize has demonstrated our ability to produced quality translated output," said Liz Thomas, senior director of quality and training at Welocalize. "It validates our provision of quality translation and localization services to our clients and opens up more opportunities to provide valuable services to a wider range of clients and content types."

International Standard ISO 17100:2015 replaced the European Standard EN15038 in May 2015 to reflect the growth and changes in the translation industry. For more information on ISO 17100:2015 visit
