COLLINGWOOD, ON--(Marketwired - August 22, 2016) - After running a successful crowdfunding campaign last fall, Collingwood startup, Earth to Kids Inc., has introduced their first product, a highly-nutritious, organic and gluten free line of pasta called Chickapea Pasta. It is made up of only two ingredients: Chickpeas and Lentils.

Earth to Kids, Inc. Founder and CEO, Shelby Taylor, became motivated to provide healthy food options to busy families after starting her own family. She was driven to create foods that are truly good for people, rather than just better choices.

"When I was pregnant with my son, I found myself more passionate about nutrition than ever," says Taylor. "Talking to parents, I realized that they are struggling to feed their children healthy meals that they will actually eat and don't require hours in the kitchen after a long day at work. That's why I created Chickapea."

Understanding the market demand for healthy choices, Taylor decided to gain additional resources for her business with crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The campaign was very successful, with community backers helping Taylor surpass her goal.

Chickapea Pasta was launched after a year of research and development and is created from only two ingredients: organic chickpea flour and organic red lentil flour. The result is a line of pasta that is organic, non-GMO, gluten free, nut free and very high in protein, fiber and iron, turning an everyday family staple into a superfood.

The new pasta line has already been picked up for distribution by Neal Brothers Foods, a leading organic, healthy and speciality food distributor. Neal Brothers Foods is highly selective in accepting new brands, ensuring they are representing products that are aligned with their philosophies about healthier food.
