Ontario SPCA Adoption Blitz Aims to Ease Burden on Animal Centres Nearing Capacity

NEWMARKET, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 23, 2016) - Ontario SPCA animal centres across the province are nearing capacity to care for homeless cats due to a recent influx that have come into their care, putting a strain on resources.

"We urgently need to find homes for the cats in our care," says Tonya Martin, Director, Animal Centres & Humane Programming, Ontario SPCA. "We are at critical capacity and are looking for the public's assistance to help us place cats into loving forever homes."

The Ontario SPCA's "iAdopt Urgent Appeal" adoption blitz, which ran earlier this month, has been extended until Sunday, Aug. 28. ADULT CATS will be available for adoption for $50 each at participating Ontario SPCA animal centres.

All cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, come with a gift of six weeks of pet insurance and are up to date on their vaccinations.

Please open your home to a cat in desperate need of a forever home. Can't adopt right now? Share this message with friends and family.

"If you are able to welcome a cat into your home, please adopt during our urgent appeal," says Martin. "By adopting a cat now, you can help ensure space becomes available for other animals in need."
