KEARNY, NJ--(Marketwired - Aug 24, 2016) - Recent findings published in the journal Obesity, the official peer-reviewed research journal of The Obesity Society, reveal evidence that our bodies can actually resist weight loss making it more challenging to maintain weight loss. The authors of the study report that keeping weight off after weight loss requires, "vigilant combat against metabolic adaptation." However, a previous study published in Obesity found that nearly 75 percent of participants taking dietary supplements containing the carb-controlling Phase 2 ingredient maintained weight loss for an additional six months after the initial reduction in weight and reported decreased appetite for sugary foods.

"Just like this study proves, anyone can drop weight quickly in a short amount of time especially if there is a supervised diet and exercise intervention, but when real life enters the picture again, your diet plans are doomed and so is your waistline," said Foreman. "You need to have a plan in place that can be maintained in the long term. It's OK to have Friday night pizza with family and friends from time to time, as long as you have a strategy in place that will save you from the carbohydrate backlash."
