Solarvest Reaches Significant Economic Yields for the "World First" Organic Omega-3

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Sept. 9, 2016) - SOLARVEST BIOENERGY INC. (TSX VENTURE:SVS) ("Solarvest" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has achieved a commercial milestone for the production of its patented DHA Omega-3 utilizing only organic inputs. Working with our contract producer, Solarvest was able to achieve yield(s) in active ingredient and cell density, that positions the Company for profitable production and launch into the premium organic nutraceutical market. The Company will launch this product in the US where it has received FDA approval as a dietary supplement and the world's first 100% organic marine based Omega-3.

Another important milestone is product stability; currently we are able to confirm a 6 month shelf life, sufficient to meet the requirements of a commercial, distribution network. More importantly, data analysis also proves that the product is stable in the home three months after opening. In both cases there has been no degradation in the active ingredient (DHA) demonstrating that Solarvest's Omega-3 product is very stable, a quality that is not always achievable with organic products, which contain no chemical preservatives.

Our product's premium differentiation is based on this improved quality and chemical free processing. The patented algae-based production process produces Omega-3 fatty acid in a clean, controlled, vegan and certified organic culture system. Currently the primary source of Omega-3's are fish oils, which can be contaminated with heavy metals and PCBs and are not a sustainable source capable of meeting the anticipated growth / future demand.

Solarvest can produce organic Omega-3's economically in a sustainable and manageable supply process that respects our environment.
