Get Active This Weekend for Animals in Need at the Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk(TM)

STOUFFVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 21, 2016) - Looking for something to do this weekend? The Ontario SPCA and some of their Affiliated Societies invite animal lovers to lace up their running shoes to help animals in need at the Friends for Life! Walk ™ Presented by Pedigree®, which will take place in 17 different communities.

More than just a fundraising walk, the Friends for Life! Walk™ is a fun-filled day that offers something for everyone. From barbecues and live music to pet vendors and activities for the kids, each walk location has its own unique attractions and activities. It's the purr-fect way to spend a day with friends and family who share a love of animals.

"We can't do this alone, which is why we need you to go the extra mile to help vulnerable animals," says Tonya Martin, Director, Animal Centres & Community Programming, Ontario SPCA. "Register today for the Friends for Life! Walk and help us change the lives of animals in need, one step at a time."

It's not too late to register to take part in this worthwhile event, which raises funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario. Anyone interested in participating can register online at friendsforlifewalk.ca or register at their local community event on the morning of the walk.

"You don't need to bring a dog to the walk to participate. In fact, you don't even need to own a pet!" says Martin. "The Friends for Life! Walk is a way for you to give back to your community by giving animals a second chance."
