TierPoint to Build Second Dallas Data Center

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Sep 21, 2016) -  TierPoint LLC today announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art data center in the Dallas metropolitan area. 

Partnering with Compass Data Centers, TierPoint's ultimate plan calls for approximately 90,000 sq. ft. of building space in Allen, Texas, with the initial phase including an investment of over $20 million and 16,000 sq. ft. of raised floor. The new carrier-neutral facility will also include infrastructure support and office space and is expected to be operational by spring 2017.

TierPoint's roots can be traced to Dallas and the company's first data center acquisition, Colo4Dallas, in 2010. The original 68,000 sq. ft. facility, built in 2000, was one of the first in the area to provide true 2N power, an important factor in preventing outages and giving the company a strong entry into the market. Since then, TierPoint has added 38 more data centers. The new Dallas-area facility will bring the total to 40 nationwide.
