Canexus Receives Shareholder Meeting Requisition


CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - September 22, 2016) - Canexus Corporation (TSX: CUS) ("Canexus" or the "Corporation") today announced that it received an email requisition on behalf of Stirling Global Value Fund Inc. ("Stirling"), described as a holder of more than 5% of Canexus' shares, on September 21, 2016.

The requisition requests the convening of a general meeting of shareholders at which shareholders will be asked to vote on a resolution to remove Canexus' eight incumbent directors and, if passed, to set the number of directors at five and to elect five new directors to the board of Canexus.

Canexus is reviewing the email correspondence and will provide a detailed response in due course. There is no need for shareholders to take any action at this time.
