AMD Embedded Radeon(TM) E9260 GPU Featured in Next-Generation IGT Cabinet
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2016) - G2E -- AMD (
"AMD is a great partner for IGT," said Rachel Barber, IGT Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Gaming. "We're focused on providing our customers with a thoroughly engaging entertainment experience. AMD's next-generation graphics processors based on the new Polaris Architecture really set our new CrystalCurve ULTRA cabinet apart, with exceptional graphics and highly efficient processing capabilities."
Optimized for use in high-end systems spanning casino and arcade gaming, medical imaging, and conventional military and aerospace applications, AMD high-performance embedded GPUs enable stunning, immersive visual experiences while supporting efficient thermal design power (TDP) profiles. The AMD Embedded Radeon™ E9260 GPU leverages an optimized 14nm FinFET process to deliver greatly improved performance per watt vs. previous generations of AMD embedded GPUs. Providing up to 2.5 TFLOPS performance in a sub-50W TDP board power profile, the GPUs also offer advanced 4K encode/decode multimedia processing capabilities and multi-display configurability.
"Gaming machine developers have very demanding needs, always driving towards greater levels of customer engagement," said Colin Cureton, director of marketing and product management, AMD Enterprise Solutions. "The AMD Embedded Radeon E9260 provides exceptional graphics performance for single and multi-display systems with low power consumption. With the new IGT Crystal Curve ULTRA gaming machines' graphics capabilities powered by AMD, IGT engineers have created the next generation of immersive player experiences."
The 14nm FinFET manufacturing process and uncompromising video and graphics processing capabilities that underpin the Polaris architecture distinguish the AMD Embedded Radeon E9260 with a superior balance of power, performance and thermal profile. The Radeon E9260 provides immersive and accurate 4K graphic capabilities with H.265 and H.264 encode/decode1 on up to five displays through AMD Eyefinity technology, enabling panoramic "surround sight" and overhead visuals. This allows for more accuracy in images and more immersive detail to produce the best possible visual experience.
