DOJ BOP Field Offices Seeks Contractor to Provide Margarine

TERRE HAUTE, IN--(Marketwired - September 29, 2016) - The Department of Justice (DOJ) Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute, Indiana issued a solicitation on Thursday, September 29 for contractors who can provide it with margarine in bulk.

Specifically, the DOJ BOP requires:

• 400 30-pound cases of All-Vegetable Bulk Margarine
• 600 12-pound cases of All-Vegetable Reddies Margarine

According to the solicitation, the margarine must comply with all applicable federal regulations, including those contained in the Food and Drug Standard of Identity for Margarine (21 CFR Part 166) and must conform to USDA Specifications for Vegetable Oil Margarine. Margarine must be made from one or more of the following vegetable oils: canola, safflower, sunflower, corn, soybean, or peanut oil, and contain no less than 80% fat and no more than 2% salt.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6. The solicitation number is RFQP0418SA140032, and the associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 311512 with a small business size standard of 5000 employees. Only contractors certified as small businesses may submit bids, which are due by no later than October 3, 2016 at 12 p.m. ET.

For this solicitation, DOJ BOP FIELD OFFICES - FCI TERRE HAUTE intends to conduct an online competitive reverse auction to be facilitated by the third-party reverse auction provider, FedBid, Inc. FedBid has developed an online, anonymous, browser based application to conduct the reverse auction.

An offeror may submit a series of pricing bids, which descend in price during the specified period of time for the aforementioned reverse auction. All responsible offerors that respond to this solicitation must submit the pricing portion of their bid using the online exchange located at FedBid.com.

All bids/offers must be good for 60 calendar days after close of buy.

In addition to providing pricing at FedBid.com for this solicitation, each bidder/offeror/quoter must provide any required, non-pricing responses (e.g., technical proposal, representations and certifications, etc.) so that they are received no later than the closing date and time for this Buy.
