The Government of Canada supports the Regroupement recreatif d'Upton inc. community project

UPTON, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 29, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

For a long time, key actors in the community have been looking for a concrete sustainable way to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to support projects such as the one from the Regroupement récréatif d'Upton inc., which contribute to the vitality and dynamism of all regions across the country.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Regroupement récréatif d'Upton inc. is being granted $47,000 in financial assistance to improve the municipality's baseball diamond.

The non-profit organization was created in 2002, and its mission is to organize sports activities on municipal infrastructure and to ensure harmonious relations among users. The non-repayable contribution granted under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will be used by the organization to replace fences, install protective netting and improve lighting.
