Public Service Announcement: Royal Canadian Air Force Search and Rescue Aircraft to Conduct Training Exercises


WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Oct. 2, 2016) - National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

From October 3 to 7, 17 Wing Winnipeg's 435 "Chinthe" Transport and Rescue Squadron will conduct its annual search and rescue (SAR) training exercise CHINTHEX, within the vicinity of Lethbridge, Alta. Training flights will be closely coordinated with Lethbridge Airport Traffic Control, normally commencing and terminating at the Lethbridge Airport.

During the exercise, residents and visitors to the area can expect to see an increased military presence within the geographical boundaries of Lethbridge and an increase in flying activities around Lethbridge, its neighbouring communities, and along the Alberta - British Columbia border. The designated exercise areas will be closed to the public in the interest of safety.
