Jamf Wraps Up Successful Seventh Annual User Conference

Sessions included a deep dive into new Jamf functionality, the Mac@IBM program, transforming education and unveiling Jamf's initiative with UC San Diego Health

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Nov 1, 2016) - Jamf, the leader in Apple management, concluded its seventh annual Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) with more than more than 1,200 Apple IT administrators in attendance and 1,600+ unique visitors joining both keynote live streams. JNUC is the world's largest conference dedicated to Apple device management.

"This year's JNUC was the best yet, with more product functionality highlighted than ever before and double the number of sessions," said Dean Hager, CEO, Jamf. "Walking away from JNUC, the Jamf Nation community has an understanding of how we are focused on delivering product that simplifies the lives of IT and helps them empower end users like never before. Further, they were inspired and learned from their peers, who shared how user choice is changing corporate culture, how the desire for student equity and personalized learning is driving iPad adoption in schools, and how iOS is transforming entire industries, such as healthcare."

JNUC Highlights-at-a-Glance:

Putting Users First
A keynote by Dean Hager unveiled the new Jamf brand and a completely reimagined product experience, putting administrators and end users first. Attendees gained an inside look into new product capabilities, including automated software patch management, improved enterprise security and integration, and deployment options that will enable customers to start fast and grow forever with Jamf.

Mac@IBM, One Year Later
IBM provided an update on the success of its Mac@IBM program, one year later following JNUC 2015. IBM continues to see rapid adoption of the Apple platform, driven by employee preference, and leverages Jamf Pro to deploy and manage more than 90,000 Mac devices globally -- up from 30,000 in 2015. Every Mac that IBM buys saves the company between $273 and $543 (depending on the model) instead of a Windows PC, largely due to lower IT support costs and better residual value.

Transforming Learning with iPad
With deep roots and experience in education, Jamf highlighted its progress in education, noting it is the mobile device management (MDM) solution for 112 of the 114 ConnectED schools. Further, La Crosse School District alongside Shawnee Heights School District shared the main stage explaining how they are putting iPad and Mac devices in the hands of students and teachers despite budget constraints. La Crosse explained that staff members districtwide donated 10 percent of their annual budget so all faculty and students could receive an Apple device. Beyond rolling out the devices themselves, both districts are implementing the latest Apple education functionality from iOS 9.3 -- such as Apple School Manager, Shared iPad and the Classroom app -- with Jamf Pro to take full advantage of the Apple ecosystem.

A First-of-its-Kind Patient Experience Project
UC San Diego (UCSD) Health unveiled its new collaboration with Jamf to help carry out its vision of transforming the patient experience by equipping all 245 of its hospital rooms with an iPad and Apple TV inside the Jacobs Medical Center, set to open in November 2016. The initiative will enable UCSD to deliver patients with a more engaged, better hospital stay. UCSD uses Jamf Pro to remotely wipe patient data from iPad devices between uses, ensuring HIPPA compliance.

Additional JNUC speakers included leading enterprise and education organizations such as Apple and LEGO. A total of more than 50+ sessions, community and Jamf-led workshops and panel discussions were delivered, along with several 'Mini Events' over the course of the three-day event.
