VA Seeks Automated Prescription Fulfillment System


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - November 11, 2016) - The Veterans Affairs (VA), Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) released a solicitation on November 12 announcing its plans to procure an Automated Prescription Fulfillment System (APFS).

Contractors interested in this opportunity must be able to supply a system that meets the accuracy, timeliness, and quantity demands of the delegated workload of the CMOP. The CMOP requires a contractor to serve as a systems integrator who will design a working APFS, procure all subsystems, and configure the APFS to operate within the existing automated production system database structure.

According to the VA, the APFS will be comprised of necessary Tablet/Capsule Automation (TCA), Unit-of-Use Automation (UUA), subsystems, ancillary systems, and conveyance technology. All components shall be fully integrated and functional within VA databases and data structures such that all components operate seamlessly for order fulfillment.

The contractor who wins this contract also must provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, support, travel, and all other items needed to perform services in connection with this activity.

The NAICS code for this solicitation is 332999 and the small business size standard is 750 employees. This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside. The Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract.
