Pihlajalinna to acquire recruitment company MediApu

Pihlajalinna Health Ltd, a subsidiary of Pihlajalinna Plc, will purchase the entire share capital of MediApu Ltd from its current owners. MediApu is an Oulu-based medical recruitment service that provides municipal work opportunities for physicians. The transaction will be completed on 30 November 2016. MediApu will continue its operations as an independent company.

The transaction will strengthen Pihlajalinna's physician recruitment function and support its outsourcing ventures in health and social services. MediApu's customers include many municipalities and joint municipal authorities. MediApu helps its municipal customers to save money by replacing expensive agency-hired physicians with highly committed, permanent personnel. The service also frees chief physicians from the task of recruiting new workforce. In each recruitment case facilitated by MediApu, the municipality is the employer and pays the physician's salary. The company currently offers more than 110 municipal employment opportunities across Finland.
