Public Service Announcement: RCAF fighter jets to operate out of Ottawa for training in the United States

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 2, 2016) - National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces

Two Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-18 Hornet fighter jets from 3 Wing Bagotville, Quebec, will operate out of Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport from December 2 to 4.

The CF-18s will take part in Dissimilar Air Combat Training (DACT) with U.S. F-16 Fighting Falcons in New York State, just south of Ottawa. DACT exposes RCAF CF-18 pilots to fighter aircraft that they do not interact with on a regular basis to provide more realistic training. This training helps to prepare RCAF CF-18 pilots for the types of engagements they may face in a real operation.
