Media Advisory: Christmas Lights Across Canada Illumination Ceremony on Parliament Hill


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 6, 2016) - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will officially launch the 32nd edition of Christmas Lights Across Canada on Wednesday.

In addition to the illumination of hundreds of thousands of multicoloured lights along Confederation Boulevard, the annual ceremony will feature excerpts from the musical show Décembre, a pyrotechnics show as well as a projection of the winter lightscapes show. The evening's festivities will also be broadcast live on Facebook for Canadians across the country who are unable to attend the illumination ceremony.

  • Media will have access to an area with risers on the central walk in front of the stage; it is accessible from the east driveway.
