DataStax Appoints David Waugh as Senior Vice President of Market Development

Senior Technology Executive to Define and Execute High Value Cloud Applications Market


SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 6, 2016) - DataStax, the leading provider of database software for cloud applications, today announced the appointment of David Waugh as senior vice president of market development, where he will be responsible for the strategy of, and execution into, new market opportunities. Most recently, Waugh was chief operating officer at AirVM where he was responsible for managing the daily operations of the business, including the sales, marketing, product management and customer success teams.

Prior to his role as COO at AirVM, Waugh was also the company's chief product officer and helped establish a product management discipline and focus the organization's development and go-to-market efforts. Waugh's experience ranges from large public organizations to small startups, including Toushay where he was senior vice president of marketing and product management, focusing on the development and marketing of their mobile application and device management business, while managing the day to day operations of the business. Waugh also held various positions at Quest Software, including vice president and general manager of unified communications, vice president of SharePoint Solutions and vice president of product management, and helped build their Microsoft business from $7 million per year to more than $350 million per year. Waugh was also vice president of marketing at FastLane Technologies and Andyne Computing, and was a visiting lecturer at James Cook University in Australia teaching computer science courses while helping build the computer science department.

Waugh holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from The University of Western Ontario, Canada.
