Army Seeks Contractor to Provide Buttons, Clasps, and Burrs

WEST POINT, NY--(Marketwired - December 14, 2016) - The U.S. Department of the Army released on Wednesday, December 14 a sources sought notice for the procurement of buttons, clasps, and burrs on a small business set-aside basis, as long as at least two or more qualified small businesses respond to the sources sought synopsis.

The Army is looking for a contractor who can provide:

• 30,000 burrs (FDC & LOC) A0020
• 12,000 collar clasp A0040
• 50,000 toggle, 3/4" Long A0050
• 8,640 brass bullet buttons (3/8" Stem)
• 23,040 brass bullet buttons (1/4" Stem)
• 1,728 brass bullet buttons with toggle (5/16")
• 1,440 brass bullet buttons with toggle (1/2")
• 6,480 brass bullet buttons with tack-back
• 10,000 tacks for button # B0025
• 16,128 brass buttons USMA, Ligne 25, no-toggle
• 26,640 brass buttons USMA36L with Concave Back (7/32")
• 8,640 flat silver buttons, Ligne 30 (1/4" St.)

The Army is encouraging all small businesses, in all socioeconomic categories (including, 8(a) Business Development Program, Small Disadvantage Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Women-Owned Small Business concerns), to identify their capabilities in meeting the requirement at a fair market price.

The anticipated NAICS code(s) is/are: 339993, Fastener, Buttons, Needle and Pin Manufacturing with size standard of 750 employees.

• Name of the firm, point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, DUNS number, CAGE code, a statement regarding small business status (including small business type(s)/certifications(s) such as SDB, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) and the corresponding NAICS code

• If the firm is interested in competing for this requirement as a prime contractor or not, and any subcontracting, joint ventures, or teaming arrangement that will be pursued, if any)

• Past Performance (whether as a prime contractor or subcontractor) on similar requirements (include size, scope, complexity, timeframe, government, or commercial), pertinent certifications, etc. that will facilitate making a capability determination

• Information to help determine if the requirement item is commercially available, including pricing information, basis for the pricing information (e.g., market pricing, catalog pricing, etc.), delivery schedules, customary terms and conditions, warranties, etc.

• Information about how the Army can best structure contract requirements to facilitate competition by and among small business concerns

• Information about any condition or action that may unnecessarily restrict competition with respect to this acquisition

To receive the contract, contractors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database, and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
