Transferring Sir John Carling Site for the New Civic Campus


GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 14, 2016) - "On December 2, 2016, the Government of Canada announced the proposed transfer of the former Sir John Carling site to The Ottawa Hospital.

"Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) will lead federal efforts to make the land of the former Sir John Carling site available for the new Civic Campus. PSPC, which manages the disposition of many federal properties, will liaise with all key stakeholders, including the City of Ottawa, the Province of Ontario and The Ottawa Hospital.

  • On December 2, 2016, the Government announced that it would make all necessary preparations so that the former site of the Sir John Carling Building could be used for the new Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
  • The site is owned by the Government of Canada. PSPC is the custodian of 870 Carling Avenue as well as the building footprint and remaining annex of the former Sir John Carling Building located at the Central Experimental Farm. The remaining land is the property of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
